Privacy policy
In short: the amounts you type stay in your browser. The site sets no cookies and shows no advertising. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.
This policy applies to addgst.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth): we collect only what we need, we say why, we use it only for that purpose, and we let you ask to see or correct it. You can read the principles on the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) website.
What you enter in the calculators
All calculations run in your browser. The prices, amounts and descriptions you type into the calculators are not sent to our servers, to any third party or to any other website.
What is saved in your browser
The invoice calculator saves your list of items and your rounding choice in your browser’s local storage (the entry names begin with “addgst:”), so the list is still there when you return. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. The “Clear all” button on that page empties the list, and clearing your browser’s site data for addgst.com removes the saved copy. No other page saves what you enter.
Hosting and server logs
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. When you load a page, Cloudflare’s servers process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is needed to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare runs servers in many countries, so this information may be handled outside Australia. We do not use it to identify you.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., to count visits and see which pages are used, so that we can improve the site. A small script from Cloudflare runs on each page and sends Cloudflare the address of the page, the page you came from (the referrer), your browser and device type, the country estimated from your IP address, and technical measurements such as how long the page took to load. It does not send anything you type into the calculators.
Cloudflare says the service does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. The reports we see are totals, such as visits per page or per country, and do not identify individual visitors. This information may be handled outside Australia. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies and advertising
The site does not set cookies and does not show advertising at the moment. If we add advertising, we will update this page first to name the provider, the information it collects and how you can opt out.
If you email contact@addgst.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you reported. We do not sell it, add it to a mailing list or pass it to anyone else, except where the law requires it. We keep messages only as long as we need them for those purposes.
Links to other websites
Pages link to the ATO, Inland Revenue and other official sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for how they handle information.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing contact@addgst.com. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy matter, tell us first. You can also contact the OAIC.
Changes
If this policy changes, we publish the new version on this page and change the date below.
